The route
There are two ways from Herceg Novi to Budva. The classic run follows the shore of the Bay of Kotor through Zelenika and Kamenari and continues around the water past Risan, Perast and Kotor. The shortcut rolls the car onto the Kamenari–Lepetani ferry, crosses the narrow Verige strait and lands on the Tivat side, skipping the inner bay entirely. Either way, the final stretch climbs from Tivat over the hills and drops down to the Budva riviera.
Requesting the ride in the app
Open the Blic Taxi app, set your pickup point in Herceg Novi, enter your Budva address as the destination and send the request. A nearby online driver accepts and you watch the car come to you on the map. For a longer intercity ride like this one, the taxi app is at its most useful — the route, the driver details and your live position stay on screen for the whole crossing of the bay.
Pickup in Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi is built in terraces, and the old town with the Pet Danica seaside promenade is largely stairs and footpaths. Put your pickup pin on a street a car can actually reach: Njegoševa street above the old town, the Škver harbour area by the water, or the main coastal road near the bus station. Staying on the Igalo spa side? Pin the spot directly in front of your hotel or apartment building.
Arriving in Budva
Enter your exact accommodation in Budva rather than just the town name — in summer the seafront one-way system makes precision worth it. Drivers drop off by the old town walls for Stari Grad stays, along the Slovenska plaža service road for beachfront hotels, or continue a few kilometres further to Bečići, Rafailovići and the Sveti Stefan side if that is where you are booked.
Return trip and onward travel
Going back, request the ride from Budva and set Herceg Novi, Igalo or Meljine as the destination — the driver decides between the ferry and the bay road based on traffic and the queue at Kamenari. The same app also covers stops along the way: many travellers break the trip in Kotor or Perast, then simply request the next car when they are ready to continue.
Driver availability may vary depending on your location, time and nearby online drivers.
